Xerox Proj.

Here's my xerox project.. it's made up of different versions of my feet, hands, hair, arm, and even my ear from a scan i did from part of my face.

Making the original copies was embarassing at first, but you learn to have fun with it. The rest of it was also fun but challenging because of the tedious cutting and arranging.... and rearranging.... and rearranging until it looks cool or has a purpose.

I started by fanning out the copies of my feet, which i had wanted to do from the beginning. I realized I had a lot of different positions of my hands so I tried to portray the hands reaching toward the feet as if you were stretching or trying to reach for something you want. The feet kind of reminded me of the sun so I used warm colors for the background surrounding that part to kind of go along with that theme. Also in keeping with the idea of 'reaching for something you want', my bracelets are focused toward the centerline of the piece because they have a peace sign and the word courage incorporated in them, which is something I think everyone wants/should strive for.

It was hard to show this in a photo, but parts of the project also popped off the page, 3-D style to create different levels and a kind of texture to add to it. (the ears, the mini hands, and the inner circle of the feet)

That's all, hope you like it...

  1. I really like the multi-layered approach. It shows a lot of work. Good use of the space too.

  4. I loved that you used your hair. No one else even thought of that and it made it have such a unique image come up. I also liked that you used your ears. I thought that your earrings made it have a really cool effect. Your feet and toes were really cute too. I think everyone else was scared to do their feet! Really creative!
